This is the best thermometer I've ever had and used. Its very easy to use, lightweight, easy to read, and fits well in my and my husband's hands. No more struggling with trying to read the numbers on the old fashioned products I grew up with (and never did figure them out). This emits a tone when the temperature is ready. The sound is quiet, however, the instructions tell us how many seconds it takes, so the tone being quiet isn't a problem.
