What to do with the C wire was an issue on installing. This has no C terminal. The instructions, both printed, and on line are inconclusive. After a lot of online work, I came upon the fact that the C terminal is to provide continuous power to the clock. This uses a couple of alkaline cells for that purpose so the C wire has nowhere to go. One simply tapes it off. The one unfortunate thing about this thermostat in operating mode is that it has no backlight for the display. In its location in my house, it's not well illuminated. It is near a utility drawer so I keep a small flash in there to facilitate reading the display. I imagine that if I'd spent $5 or $10 more, the 'stat would have its own light. So it goes.

The good: Simple (for programmable thermostat) setup. Does the job. Once I got it set up it runs fine. The bad: Some of the displayed alphanumeric text is so small I have trouble reading it. Also there is no built in illumination. it is difficult to see the displayed information in low light conditions. I'm not talking about the dark, I'm talking about without direct light on the thermostat. I had to use a flashlight a couple of times to see it, even though there is a light directly above it on the ceiling.

Is simple in that it is programmable for 4 different times of the day, set by you, for each of the 7 days of the week. Is also very accurate by turning on or off when the preset temperature you choose is reached. This is the 2nd one I've bought--one was downstairs and now upstairs. Was only $8 on ebay--1/3 the store price.

It works fine. I used it to replace an even older Honeywell thermostat. It took just a few minutes to install. The instruction assume the thermostat is replacing a later model, so they don't provide all the information necessary, but I was able to figure it out.

Honeywell is the easiest thermostat to use and rely on. The only reason I replaced mine was bcz the old one was going on 20 years old but still working good. Buttons started getting harder to push.
