I'm a small business owner dedicated to property management. I have been venturing more and more into lawn care and recently secured a contract with a HOA that requires maintaining around 50 wintergreen and other variety of bushes. I had been using only a corded one and that was a pain. This Poulan Pro PR2322 is a dream come true. The unit is lightweight enough that you can use it for an extended period if needed. Powerful enough to cut thick and overgrown bushes without any hesitation. I have used twice already and I see no need to spend more money on another high end brand!

This is a strong, powerful cutting machine for hedges, bushes, and brush. I have used it for trimming weeds under fences and cutting multifloral rose bushes. The main issue I have is that after about 1/2 hour of hard work on a hot day it seems to vapor lock and acts like it is running out of fuel and stops. After it cools it will start and run again. I don`t know if they all do this or not. I bought this as refurbished for a reduced price. I was going to return it, but decided that for the refurbished price I paid and the good job it does when it`s working that I would keep it and just take a break when it does. It does require a strong, careful person to operate it safely.

I bought to replace an electric corded trimmer (homeowner). This is a professional tool, so it is heavy duty, i.e. much heavier than the normal homeowner type trimmer. 1 pull start once it's warmed up. Plenty of gas capacity for a couple hours use. Swivel handle is a nice option for tall bushes (junipers and arbs), however on my unit position of handle at 90 deg. sometimes would not allow trigger action (detents at 90 deg weren't that exact). Plenty of power to trim heavy branches. Good balance. A little loud, but again it is a professional level gas powered trimmer. So there has to be some compromise. No more electric cord so way better. I would suggest, for homeowner use that you have at least 15 large plants to trim, this is a serious piece of equipment.

Poulan Chainsaws are proven work horses when well maintained. This gas powered hedge trimmer designed by Poulan removes overgrown vines and thorns embedded in barbed wire fences. Going left to right and right to left between the horizontal strands of barbed wire. Then removing the chopped up material with a steel rake. A standard chainsaw will not cut material very well that is moving.
