I couldn’t be sorrier that I purchased this. It is distractingly out of date, out of touch, and so full of errors (grammar, punctuation, wrong words (effect instead of affect), and sometimes an entire missing noun so you don’t even know what they’re trying to say) that if it was just tiny bit worse it would be comical. Do not buy this. Online (free) practice tests from shl are far more useful and reflective of the actual civil service exams. These questions are very basic and the book does not offer deductive reasoning or inductive reasoning practice questions. Those are the ones that a candidate would want to practice/study. These are common sense questions at a most basic level.

I'm studying for an upcoming exam and ordered this book. First of all, there are no explanations with the answers so there is no rationale. I would prefer to read a rationale for each answer given. Also, the math in many of the record keeping sections are incorrect. One table has 60 + 60 = 80 and so forth. Whoever did the math on these exams doesn't know math. I wouldn't recommend this particular study guide.
