** Third Edition Now Available**

These days everyone has a desktop computer, laptop, or at least a device such as a smartphone or tablet that they use to go online, send emails, and so on. And for the people who use a personal computer at home or at work then there is a very good chance that it is running Microsoft Windows. And if it’s a newer computer then there is a very good chance its running Windows 10 since new or has been upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Microsoft has said that Windows 10 will be the last version of their desktop operating system and that they will just continue to update it and add new features rather than come out with new versions. Time will tell if they will stick with this strategy or if they will feel the pressure to come out with something new just for the sake of generating some hype and of course more sales.

This goal of this book is to help you get the most out of your Windows 10 computer and make you a more proficient computer user. I will cover the basics (in detail) to better help you understand how to do things like configure and customize Windows, use the great built in features and software as well troubleshoot issues that you may run into while using your computer. A lot of this content will apply to previous versions of Windows so you will be able to apply your newfound knowledge to older computers as well.

The chapters in the book cover the following topics:

Chapter 1 – What is Windows?
Chapter 2 – Installing Windows
Chapter 3 – Configuring and Customizing Windows
Chapter 4 – Installing Devices
Chapter 5 – Windows Apps
Chapter 6 – File and Folder Management
Chapter 7 – User Accounts
Chapter 8 – Microsoft Edge Web Browser
Chapter 9 – Windows 10 Settings
Chapter 10 – Networking Basics
Chapter 11 – Basic Troubleshooting

The book has some good information that helped clear up the confusion on some things I didn't like about Windows 10. Some of the information was a little advanced for me but overall it helped and I'm glad I got it.

I have used PC's long enough that the shift to Windows 10 felt huge - it looked different, it acted different, and all my normal functions felt hidden. I've managed to figure it out, but wish I'd had this book a couple of years ago. It is a good basic review of how to navigate Win 10 from the perspective of what changed from prior Windows versions. If you are familiar with Windows and feel like you've lost functions, this will help you find them. And it will give you the basics for finding new ways to do things. I actually felt inspired to try using Edge after reading it.

So disappointed with prior books -- content, illustrations, etc. This answered questions easily and quickly and didn't leave me with a headache

Not the best instruction book I have used. No index in the back and a lot of things not covered or explained very well. I had a house fire so wanted an all-in-one manual to cover as much as could.

I gave the "Windows 10 Made Easy...) to my brother who's into computers and is still learning them. He finds it very helpful and loves this book!

It is a good troubleshooter manual and has vary good coverage. It was a great help for me and has every thing you need.

I read this book over about a week long period and learned more in that week than I did from 2 years of messing around with Windows 10 om my own. I never liked Windows 10 when I was upgraded against my will and was a big Windows 7 fan. But I got some good information out of this book which made me warm up to it a little.

This book hits the "high spots" and does not go into very much detail at all! The table of contents is not very extensive and the entries here do not have page numbers listed. Also the individual pages are not labeled showing chapter and contents subject. All these things make the book very hard to navigate! In addition, there is no index at the end of the book. I would not suggest buying this book and to look for something better on Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars A disappointing waste of time and money- I must have ordered this by mistake!

Mr Bernstein's rambling narrative conveyed very much less useful detail than the number of pages in this book would lead a reader to expect. I think that he would benefit from an understanding of how to produce and present training material. Certainly he should have enlisted the help of an editor. I particularly disliked his backhanded, often derogatory comments about faults and common dislikes of Microsoft 10 with his personal recommendations for add-ons to mitigate them. I have read enough student assignments to be able to tell when the writer's heart is not in his subject. Have since ordered Michael Miller's book which is infinitely better !
