About the authors
Over a decade ago, Nikhil Abraham started coding in SAS and STATA to analyze data as an economic consultant. Since then, he has continued coding to automate repetitive and routine tasks in the workplace.
He is the CFO of Resident Home, a direct to consumer company and previously was the CFO at Udacity, an education company that teaches technology skills that help launch or advance a career. Prior to joining Udacity, Nik worked at Codecademy where he taught beginning coders across a variety of professions. He is also author of Coding For Dummies and Getting a Coding Job For Dummies
Nik has taught and trained thousands of beginning coders across a variety of professions in the United States and Europe. Companies who received training included AOL, Bloomberg, national newspapers, ad agencies, and movie studios among others. He has also trained alumni from universities such as Yale, Cornell, Northwestern, and the University of Virginia. Finally, he helped author and refine Codecademy's online courses, which have introduced basic coding skills to millions of learners around the world.
Luca Massaron is a data scientist and a research director specialized in multivariate statistical analysis, machine learning and customer insight with over a decade of experience in solving real world problems and in generating value for stakeholders by applying reasoning, statistics, data mining and algorithms. From being a pioneer of Web audience analysis in Italy to achieving the rank of top ten data scientist at competitions held by kaggle.com, he has always been passionate about everything regarding data and analysis and about demonstrating the potentiality of data-driven knowledge discovery to both experts and non-experts. Favouring simplicity over unnecessary sophistication, he believes that a lot can be achieved in data science just by doing the essential.
