Stephen Kendrick is best known as a screenwriter and movie producer (Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous) along with having co-wrote the New York Times best sellers The Resolution for Men and The Love Dare with his brother, Alex. Stephen and his wife, Jill, have six children, and he serves as senior associate pastor of preaching and prayer at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.   Alex Kendrick is best known as an actor, writer, and director whose film credits include Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. Stephen Kendrick is the co-writer and producer of the movies War Room, Courageous, Fireproof, and Facing the Giants and the co-author of the New York Times best selling books, The Love Dare, The Resolution for Men, and The Battleplan for Prayer.

Stephen serves on the boards of the Fatherhood Commission and the Christian Film Foundation and speaks at conferences and events across the nation. He and his wife, Jill, live in South Georgia with their six children and he enjoys working alongside his brothers Alex and Shannon at Kendrick Brothers' Productions.

CHURCH STAFF: For thirteen years, Stephen served as associate teaching pastor at Sherwood Church in Albany, Ga. He and his brother Alex helped establish Sherwood Pictures in 2003 and co-wrote and produced Sherwood's movies.

INTERVIEWS: Stephen has been interviewed by FOX and FRIENDS, CNN, ABC World News Tonight, The Washington Post, and on hundreds of radio programs.

EDUCATION: Stephen graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and attended New Orleans Seminary.

This is one of the best couples "daily books I have used!!!It will only take two or three minutes a day to complete. Talking aout aboutThe points made in each days pages will add a few more minutes to that.The lessons talked about really inspire a lot of thought. This book will make you more aware of how your thinking, words and actions effect not just the lives of others , but your life as well.This book does center around Christianity. If you are a nonbeliever , please don't let this scare you off.I strongly urge everyone , no matter your religious beliefs , to give this book a try.Even if you remove God from the central focus of the book , the things the book talks about pertain to everyone. So please don't be narrow minded and give this book a chance.We can never be lazy thinking or lazy acting and expect our relationships to reach any real depth. If you want your relationship to last then be willing to put in the time , thought and effort.

When I first saw that this was written by the Kendrick brothers, who are film producers, I was somewhat skeptical about their ability to write a Christian devotional book for 365 days that would have a substantial spiritual orientation that could address the dynamics of relationships between Christian husbands and wives. Much to our surprise, we have found it poignantly written, often with a literary flair that is both clever and insightful, always initiated with a biblical passage and a theme related to the nature of love (in this case, the loving relationship that we uphold in marriage as Christians), and at the bottom of each page including a "dare" after the relatively short devotional text (no more than five minutes to read). The dare may consist of a prayer, a meditative theme to address, other biblical passages to explore along the same theme of that day's devotional, or questions / dialogue themes to address with your spouse. Sometimes the dare is repeated two or three times in a week, because the theme and issues being discussed are so fundamental to a loving and caring Christian marriage. We found it so enriching and challenging, that we have not simply read it day by day, but sometimes stay on one devotional for several days. It is now one of our favorite gifts to give for newly weds as well as those celebrating their anniversary.

Not at all what I was expecting, to be honest. I have done the Love Dare book (the first one for those who are wanting to work on their marriage), and that one was really good - challenging, too. It's EXTREMELY tiny, like, pocket book size. I might have overlooked dimensions, but that's why I gave it a 4 star out 5. Not a fan of the tiny, tiny size. The WEEKLY challenges are Okay, as where the other book it is DAILY focused. I'm not 100% sure if it's like a one day out of the whole week you do the challenge or if you do it all week (I'm guessing all week), which would make it more challenging, but then again, that becomes repetitive. I DO appreciate that it's focused on Couples doing this together. I'll probably do the other book again since I have another new one, because that one seemed more one-on-one personal. If this book was a lot bigger, and had more weekly journal entry availability, i would be more sold. I DO recommend it though, for those who love the Love Dare challenges, and who don't have anything against pocket sized booklets. :)
