Product Description

This reed is designed to produce a quality of extremely pure sound due to a very thin reed tip (the area of reed with maximum vibration), being balanced by a solid vertebral column (more cane in the area which climbs gradually to the heel). These reeds are recognizable by a straight line to delineate the limit of the area of bark. The favorite reed of classic saxophonists worldwide since Marcel Mule, it has always been (and is still) used with equal success by many players.

These reeds are amazing. They are very consistent, and they sound great. You do have to break them in, however, but it is pretty easy. Every day you soak the whole reed in water for a minute or two, then put it in your case. Then take it out later and play on each reed for about like 5 minutes max and usually in around 4-5 days these reeds will play amazing. Some reeds in the box are garbage, but that happens in every box. Even the garbage reeds play better than Rico reeds! 😂

I have been playing Saxophone for around 7 years now and I love these reeds! The sound quality is 100 times better than any reedco reeds or any other brand of reeds! But I would not recommend them to the inexperienced player because it’s hard to get a sound out of it at first! But if you have been playing a while you are good! I LOVE THESE REEDS!!!

My 16 year old son plays the tenor sax. We were getting the Rico reeds because that is what the school said to get when he first started. They were ok but we would get 1, maybe 2 "bad" ones in a box of 5. My father in law, who plays each of the 4 different saxophones in professional bands, said to get these because you get fewer "bad" ones in a box. He was right. These are usually a bit more expensive than the Rico more basic ones, but we have found these are definately better quality so we are able to buy fewer.
