Great intermediate trumpet

I bought this trumpet for my 12 year old son who plays in his middle school band. He has been playing trumpet now for about two years and his previous trumpet was a beginner. I wanted to get him something more flashy as he plays in the concert band and he has progressed beyond a beginner's intrument. This trumpet was perfect for that as the black and gold is very shiny and attractive. The sound is clear and the tonal effect is very pleasant. The overall quality has met my expectations; the first valve does stick some, but not more than any other trumpet. The kit did come with valve oil, and when used, the valve performs as it should. The convertible case is very nice. It can be carried with the shoulder strap, or converted to carry like a backpack. He likes to carry it by the handstrap, but has used it as a backpack when his hands are full.
I am very pleased with this purchase and it has not disappointed either myself or my son at all. He used it several days ago to try out for all county band (and made it!), and all the kids from the other schools went on and on about how "cool" this trumpet looks.
No regrets with this instrument so far.

Good quality, inexpensive trumpet for a beginner. Own your own trumpet for about the same price as a trumpet rental from a music store. My Son's music teacher said the trumpet is great. He also takes lessons at a music store and that instructor also said the trumpet is nice. One valve was a little tight but his teacher showed us how to fix it. Just pull the cap off the bottom, pull the valve out, add oil and insert the valve upside down through the bottom of the valve tube. Then slide and spin the valve. This knocks down any high spots in the finish making the valve slide better. It took a few minutes to fix and now it plays great.

As a highschool trumpet player this was a sensational trumpet. It was very easy to play on and play high. I can go from a low g to a double g above the staff. It's very easy to play and looks nice. I bought the nickel and it holds up. For new trumpet players and or the parents of them, the only problem with trumpets like these is if they break it is very hard to find replacement parts for them. Mine has not broken and I have had it for about 2 months.

I bought a used trumpet for twice as much at a pawn shop and it fell apart after a few months... this is now being used by a 9 year old and gets dropped on the floor daily, and is still just as perfect as when it came in... it holds a shine, and is very easy to clean and maintain... with the accessories included it was a phenomenal buy... very impressed.

TheHawk WD-T313 trumpet isn't living to my expectations but considering it was a very cheap instrument I kinda expected it to not be as good, there are sometimes where some of the notes won't come out for some odd reason, and there is a need to have to blow a lot more air then my old trumpet to be able to hit certain notes which I question sometimes, but other the.that nice trumpet it will do me well till I can find the money for a more expensive trumpet

Personally speaking, I think that this trumpet is really good, its pretty light and sounds decent. However, after purchasing this I found out that I cant use it for my band practices in school, the sound is REALLY light, and that is that problem according to my band instructor. "A good trumpet must have weight in it's sound" Thats what he said when he asked me to play this trumpet and compare it to when i play the BnS Challenger II trumpet. But still, it's a pretty good trumpet to me.

I got this for my son who is in his 4th year in band. he is in marching band and for the price it has held up great! he loves it! he actually had a very pricy one he already had been playing but wanted a silver one so we got this one. I purchased this as a birthday gift to myself. It had been 12 years since I had last played but managed to remember most things.

I struggled with how much effort I had to put into playing. I figured it was due to being out of practice.

One day I cleaned it and to my surprise there was paper jammed in it. I can't get all of the paper out due to the fact that this paper has had moisture turn it into a pulp from playing. It plays a little better but I have no clue how I am supposed to get the rest out.

If you purchase this, look to make sure there is nothing in the horn.
