My Mom used to keep these raisin biscuits in our pantry when I was a kid, for a quick breakfast on-the-go or an after-school snack. I always loved them and when I grew up, I would keep them in my pantry too. Then, at some point in the mid-1980s, they disappeared from U.S. store shelves. I haven't seen them here since so I was thrilled to find them online. I first saw them at a rather popular online "general store" but they were charging way too much for them. So I did a quick Amazon search and... Ta-da! There they were, available from several sellers. I chose this vendor for the value. Since they're shipped from overseas, the shipping time takes a bit longer. Mine arrived in 16 days from the date of purchase. But if you're not in a hurry, this is a great deal. I got exactly what was advertised: 12 packages of Crawfords Raisin Biscuits. They came as 1 full case with 12 packs inside; each individually wrapped, with 10 pre-cut biscuits in each purple package. (For the record, these are actually made with currants.) They taste exactly like the ones I grew up eating. They're delicious; not too sweet and perfect with a cup of tea. My family loves them as much as I do. If you've been looking for them, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Was searching for a similar raisin cookies I remember from the 80s, these are not quite as good as those but Garibaldi are definitely still a decent and close replacement. In comparison these are 1) more cookie less filling, 2) more dry on par with a British biscuit, 3) cookie kinda bland but not in a bad way because I love a not overly sweet or sugary cookie. Basically this is as sweet as a raisin is with a slightly sweet cookie crunch. It tastes like a raisin not a true currant which are typically more tart, and they are really just sprinkled within the cookie not a filling layer, perfect amount. A bit pricey for the small package it is, bought the 2pk to try but the 12pk is definitely the best value that I'll buy in the future. I don't usually have this habit but because they aren't overly sweet it is definitely easy to eat the whole package in a sitting, only 10 small rectangles (slightly wider/thicker than a club cracker) in the 100g package (the stats are listed per cookie on front so that's x10!)

If you loved those Sunshine Raisin Cookies / Biscuits back 25~30+ years ago, this is your ticket.
It's the exact same biscuit flavoring and texture, crisp surface and soft center filling of raisin / currants.
Some folks say these don't have quite as much raisin in them, but they still have some protein so it's all good. I can't taste much difference, they're everything I remember.
Only CON about this product is the fact that a case of these things might not be enough. You will want more. Maybe order two if you love the things enough to give a few packs out to your church friends.
Our 80-plus years young pianist at church LOVED them, so thank a bunch to Crawford for still making them!

We used to get a flaky cookie/biscuit with raisins in the middle and a light glaze. I thought these would be similar, but they’re not. They’re not flaky, more like a cracker and no glaze. They are good, not very sweet, would be great in the morning with tea (or if you like coffee) or a late night snack. I will buy again, but wish I could find the ones we used to get many years ago

English Raisin biscuits are usually delicious. The biscuits I received were on the dry side and were quite crumbly. Even the taste was off. Every time I opened a new package I expected it to be better than the previous one. Not sure why they were dry, crumbly and not tasty. I thought there were plenty of raisins but that still didn’t increase the taste. Maybe they need a little more butter in the batter. I will try them again since there are no raisin biscuits like these produced in the U.S. I remember eating the Sunshine Golden Fruit Biscuit growing up. It’s a shame we don’t have these raisins biscuits on our grocery store shelves. Much better and healthier than most of the cookies in our grocery stores. Kids and adults would love them!! Can’t wait for my next batch.

I'm an avid watcher of Call The Midwife and they are always offering a Garibaldi with tea, as though it's something extravagant. I decided I had to try one. I have to admit, a lot of the reviews for these weren't positive, but American cookies are different from British biscuits, so I blamed it on that and bought a package. I did not make a bad decision! These are the most delightful biscuits! They are only slightly sweet and taste like real food, unlike every single cookie on the U.S. market (which all taste like the same cheap ingredients no matter the variety or brand). I literally sat and ate the entire package in one night. My daughter helped. I can understand why they serve these with tea; the flavors would pair perfectly. You wouldn't want to eat a Garibaldi after eating or drinking something very sweet (like every cookie in the U.S.) because that would ruin your palette for the lightly sweet flavor of this biscuit. You'd never even notice the flavor of the currants sandwiched in the middle. Just wonderful. I had to re-order and will continue to do so! They were not crumbled (good solid packaging), they were not stale (it's a biscuit not a cookie) and they are very, very munchable. Buy them!
