I bought this because I thought I could make it work with an older Kelty carrier that we were gifted second-hand and was missing the original shade it came with. I was excited when it arrived and I was in fact able to make it work! We were heading out on a very long summer road trip and would be using it daily to protect our toddler from the sun. It is super practical and put us at ease knowing he was in the shade while we were out for hours in the heat with little natural shade. After about 3 weeks, though, i noticed a slit/rip in the mesh. I know...mesh rips but I wasn't expecting this after just 3 weeks. A bit bummed!

Fantastic shade for my little while he is in the pack. I have an older Kelty pack and this still works great. I’m pretty sure it’s versatile with any pack to keep the direct sun off your little’s head especially when they are in the stage of throwing their hats off. Did the trick!

We purchased this sun hood for our Kelty Kids Junction backpack. We took a trip to Alaska and used it for our 7 month old to protect him from the sun and rain. It worked perfectly! This was the best price that we found. Upon arrival we opened it and it was exactly as advertised. It was easy and quick to assemble and attach to the back pack. I highly recommend this sun hood.

It fits my pack (Junction 2.0), but my son doesn't really fit underneath it. It only leaves 5 inches or less above the pack for your child's head, and that was with the seat adjustment set to the lowest possible level. He was 16 months old when I first got the hood, and he's always been around 25 percentile on height. Moral of the story is to get this if your child is really small. Like newborn-to-six months small.
