I left a similar review for the Roebic Septic System Concentrate, but the Leach and Drain Field Opener is the best we have used so far.

Without going into too much detail, we used Scott toilet tissue for years and rarely had problems. Then last year, I decided to try Charmin. Even though the package says "Septic Safe", it wasn't. We started having issues within weeks. We tried all sorts of products -- sever un-concentrated Roebic products like Septic Tank, Septic System Cleaner, SGP, Main Line Cleaner; Drano; Liquid Plumr; Bleach; Vinegar and Baking Soda; Bio Wish; etc.

Nothing worked until we found the Roebic Leach and Drain Field Opener. We went back to Scott and had no problems for a couple of months ... till I decided to try Angel Soft. So I'm back here ordering this item.

We usually found that after 2 treatments of this product, our drain cleared up in a few days.

The Leach and Drain Field Opener may cost a little more than the other Roebic products, but ounce for ounce it is still a better deal because it treats 1500 gallons instead of 500 gallons.

AMAZON SHOPPERS TAKE NOTE

We ordered this product from Amazon on 1/10/2014 and 1/13/201 and were shipped the wrong item both times due to mis-labeling of their packages. They have been shipping the K-57 Septic System Cleaner, which sells for $6.50 and is far less effective.

The mistake is understandable because both bottles have green labels and the numbers are similar -- K-57 vs. K-570. But if you ordered this and it didn't work for you, it is possible that you received the wrong one. The K-57 is not a concentrated product, only treats 500 gallons, and according to the manufacturer, can take several weeks before seeing results.

So check your bottle before pouring it down, because the K-570 is $23-$24 and you will have paid 4 times the value for a cheaper, less effective product.

I have a cleanout cut in the pipe from tank to drainfield. Opened it and all I could see was crap. Had the tank pumped out and pushed hose and then snake down pipe to the T in end to drainfield. No draining. Pushed a hose down to the T and with a funnel poured Roebic into hose. Prayed a lot overnithg. Next morning water was gone from pipe. Ran water through the hose for about 10 minutes and it kept flowing to drainfield. Tank is cleaned out, not full yet but I put a half bottle in it too directly. In a few days I will see if it is still flowing. Looks like I may have saved several thousand dollars. The drainfield is 15-17 years old. will see. I was usine another more expensive product but that did not do the trick like it used to. Apparently there was a clog near the T and only this cleared it overnight. Thanks

My septic started showing problems in the leach field. I had the tank pumped out and also had a company come out and hydro jet out the septic lines. Hydro jetting works, but is expensive at $1,500.
But this is cheaper that digging up your septic field to replace it.
I used this septic cleaner and now the backyard soil isnt damp anymore.
I would put this in at night per instructions, and results should show up within 5 to 7 days.

So last June our septic backed up and we had to have it pumped. Flash forward two weeks and it backed up and was full again and we had to have it pumped again. We were told by the company that pumped it that our septic was failing and it would probably cost us 12-15k to replace it. We were told we could use caustic ash aka lye, but that’s a last ditch alternative and it could also destroy the tank. We decided to start researching and came across the Roebic treatment. We’ve since poured two more bottles into the tank, so three bottle total and I am here ordering another one. Whatever this stuff does it works and far cheaper than the alternative.
