It's perfect as far as comfort, but I find that the strain from the Bjorn on my shoulders isn't nearly as bad as the lower back pain I had from some of the other carriers I tried. I also really like the construction of the Bjorn. It has an X across the back which distributes the weight better, the material is thick and soft, and the closure is excellent: the top closure is more of a soft click, the middle closure slides in softly, and the bottom closure also has a soft sort of click. The Bjorn comes apart into 2 separate pieces when you open all the closures- they say that way you can but the baby down easily without waking them up, but I haven't found that to be the case. Particularly because the middle closure needs to be opened upward and the baby definitely notices when you pull up on the piece under their arms.
Pros: Relatively decent price Good construction Excellent closure- soft, so doesn't hurt your fingers and doesn't make noise Easy to get on and off Has an X across your back for more even weight distribution Looks nice Baby is comfortable
Cons: Does put some strain on your shoulders. I've seen reviews about moving the center of the X lower down your back for better support, which does help, but the X doesn't stay there, so that's not so great. When baby falls asleep his head leans to the side and he gets marks on his face from leaning against the top closure
