Product Description

The Speedster by hauck was designed as a beginners’ pedal car. The low weight, sporty design, trendy colours and large front plate make the Speedster a full-on fun-mobile for boys and girls aged 4 and over. As well as training strength, stamina and reactions, this go-kart is a fun way to teach the rules of the road, and even reverse parking. To keep the speed under control, the easily operated handbrake works on both rear wheels for optimum safety. The bucket seat has a comfortable backrest and can be adjusted to suit the child’s leg length.

    My boy was so excited when we gave him this as his gift for his 6th birthday! I was very pleased with how quickly it arrive and how durable it is so far! An adult well over 150 lbs rode it with no problem. Should be noted that it does NOT do well on grass. It was easy enough for the adult but for my 6 yo, forget it. I don’t deduct any stars because of how much my son loves it. It gets him outside everyday and he easily pushes it through our lawn and rides it easily to our neighborhood tennis court.

    We are so happy with the purchase of this pedal operated go-cart! Our 6 year old is thrilled! The look on his face as he gleefully rides is priceless!
    It was fairly quick and easy to assemble and it is a sturdy pedal go cart. The wheels are made well and the hand brake performs well and was a natural for him to use. The low center of gravity creates great balance as well. Unlike battery power driven go carts, you are not limited in play time and the speed is dictated by the power and energy of the child. It provides wonderful exercise and helps with coordination and judgement - they need to use these skills as they learn to safely and “drive” the vehicle. But best of all, it is Great Fun for kids! Not sure that a 3 year old would be coordinated enough or tall enough to effectively ride this particular go-cart. The child’s legs need to reach the pedals and they need to have the strength and coordination to steer and pedal and use the hand brake effectively. We would recommend ages 4 to 8, but depending on the individual child, that age range could be stretched upwards. Again look at the manufacturer’s suggestions regarding weight limit etc. After searching for a Ride-On for this in-between age group -we felt this go-cart was the perfect choice! The look on our little guy’s face says it all!

    This is a great toy for the money! My three year old loves it. He is a little small for it and the range of adjustment in the seat is not enough bring it far enough forward for him to use. I solved that problem with a old cushion and stretch cord to bring the seat back out to where he can press against it. He can ride it fine with that - so if you have a child on the smaller/younger end you might have to get a little creative.

    Assembly was very easy and fast, I did not use them but it came with tools you could use if you haven't got a socket set handy. It will probably take you longer to get it out of the box than it will to assemble. Rubber on the wheels is really nice, both in terms of grip while being hard enough I think it will last a long while. I would highly recommend to any parents who might have children that want move beyond their tricycle but maybe are not ready for a bike.
