I was testing my guitar and I didn't get any function from the preamp, it doesn't come with the rotary switch v6 either. I opened the pickguard and it does not have a preamplifier or rotary switch and there is a cut cable

well ive had the Stratocaster Roadhouse model long enough now to say something intelligent about it, so here goes. First of all Ive been a Gibson player for sixty years but when I bought a Fender Vibrolux Reverb amp I knew that for continuity and completeness I would eventually obtain a Fender guitar to go with it. I researched models thoroughly and kept coming back to the Roadhouse Stratocastersoeventually pulled the trigger and took the shot. The guitar is more than I had hoped it would be. The finish is flawless, thetuning machines are premium locking construction, the tremolo is beautifuuly set up. The maple fingerboard plays like a dream. Speedy neck effortless fingering , good string separation, and the tone throughout the range of the instrument is anything you would want. The S-1 switching together with the six position tone knob in active mode gives 30 plus usuable tones to play with. Add another 50 tones in passive mode and you have enough to keep yourself occupied for a long, long time. A note about the S-1 switching....when the button in the middle of the volume knob is pushed in, you are in passive mode. The middle tone knob, with the six position click selector, does not work in passive mode. When the volume knob button is engaged, that is up even with the top of the knob you are in S-1 active mode. Now you have the use of the middle tone knob. Of course the bottom tone knob works in passive mode and delivers some sweet quality sounds on its own. The guitar arrived in a Fender factory box inside a sturdy gig bag , no problemsIt was completely set up and ready to play right out of the box. I checked the pickup pole height with Fender specs and it was dead no. The tremolo was adjusted with a 1/8 inch floating setting so it can be used both rising and falling tones.. so sweet! The clean tones out of the noiseless pickups are just that.... clean clean clean. You wont even have to play recognizable airs to simply revel in the purity , transparency and cleaness of string tones , pluck a note and hold it until it dies away and your ears will thank you. The sustain is admirable also. I must say this guitar fills the bill all the way around. Thank you Fender.

I bought this guitar in the Olympic White. It is a very nice guitar. My one complaint, and admittedly it's a stupid complaint, is why did they put the mint green pick guard on it? I had hoped it was a pigment issue with my monitor or maybe the lighting when the photo was taken, but nope, it's a mint green pick guard. I would be fine with a parchment or aged white pick guard, but I just don't like the mint green pick guard. So, the first thing I have to do is by a white pick guard and replace it.

Otherwise the guitar plays nicely and is a quality piece.

This is guitar number 15 for me (it's a sickness) and this is definitely my new favorite. It sounds amazing, has all the premium features, looks great, plays smooth, has a nice weight to it, and isn't so expensive that you feel like babying it rather than playing it. The one and only negative I'll say is that the V6 switch on mine was loose and the knob needed to be re-positioned so that the numbers aligned correctly but that was an easy fix. The difference in each position when the pre-amp is turned on is really REALLY subtle too which was surprising but not necessarily a negative. Picture the difference in having your tone knob set to 6 vs 8 and then stretch that to 6 intervals. I ended up going with the sunburst this time around because I wanted a rosewood fretboard but without a doubt the next guitar I'm going to buy is the white with maple version. There are just too many great tonal options and features on this model.

I bought this primarily because I wanted/needed a strat option with low noise as I am recording DI in a small apartment. Sound is still obviously a strat, but there is a noticeable tradeoff for hotness, fullness of tone for longtime strat players. I've paired this with a IK AXE I/O with variable impedance Z-Tone input closes this distance. For me, the tradeoff is worth it, and when I move to a place where I can record through a live amp, I'll swap the pickups. Either way its a joy to play and the value much exceeds the price range.

My Stratocaster arrived today.
Underwhelmed.

Feature wise it is a good guitar. The guitar itself seems fairly solidly built. The preamp is a nice bonus. Pickups themselves are pretty alright judging from the first hour of playing them (more on that later).
Negative points for the lack of rolled fret ends. Before someone says that's too much of an ask, Schecters and Chapmans DO give you rolled fret ends at this price point. Out of the box action came a little higher than I'd have liked but that is easily fixable(no issues there, really).

Now on to the part that upsets me:
After just an hour of playing the output suddenly drops and everything sounds weak and wimpy. I try everything: new battery, messing with the controls, maxing the gain out on my DUAL RECTIFIER (oh god that much gain is ungodly) and it still sounds weak.

Overall I'm...underwhelmed, I suppose I'm paying for the Fender brand name. Oh well. I was going to give this guitar to a tech for a setup anyway, might as well ask the dude to take a look at the electronics and maybe roll the fret ends some. It isn't so bad that I'm forced to return it or anything, but I also suppose it's my fault for ordering a guitar online instead of buying one from a store after playing it a bit.

As I said I'm going to give this guitar to a tech for a full setup and heavier strings, taking it up to the 900 dollar price point (which is fair, I guess).

I would not recommend this guitar unless you WANT a Strat. It is an iconic guitar after all and wanting a Strat is something I can really understand. But if you're looking for a solid guitar in this price point there are better options. Schecters and Chapmans and a few Iron label Ibanez instruments come to mind, give those a thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars
Reviewed in Japan on November 18, 2018

④一番うれしいのは、made in Mexico の刻印がなければ、Fender U.S.Aと、全く差を感じない品質です。

4.0 out of 5 stars Great modern guitar
Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2021
Satisfied.
Got tired of looking for used high priced us strats. Decided to try this mexican avenue.

Pros: fat headstock 70's style, comfort, ease to play; feels like a us guitar for me. great color. Neck's color has darker finish than pictures. Versatility, classic strat sound plus multiple tones. Push-pull button and tone selector interesting.

Cons.: suprisingly, i found two glue micro drops on the frets, easily removed. I think that these maple fretboard deserve better finition and attention for a 1200$ CAN guitar. 3 persons signed the QC tag after all.

Electronics: Battery dependant. Not an issue for me.
