I am very happy with my decision to buy this answering machine and handsets. The handsets are very nice, they are very thin as compared to the one it replaces. I like that I can take the handset to my chair and do any programming that needs to be done. Each handset is able to be customized to it's particular function. The handsets lightup on the screen and the keypad so at night in emergency you can read the menus and the keys. You have very good control of things from the handsets and a very nice block feature for unwanted calls. The base answering machine is very simple to use as are the handset menus. It is very nice that you only need to plug the extension handset bases into an outlet and do not need to plug into a phone jack. I highly recommend this item, so easy to use and very large menus.
Update 5/15/2020: why didn’t I see these sooner! I absolutely hate robo calls and this is a good way to fight back by just pushing the block button on the handset. My old phone answering machine would beep every few seconds when we got a robo call and the answered picked up and the caller said nothing! Then the machine keeps beeping thinking we had a legitimate message. It would beep until I erased the message. This one doesn’t do that, no beeps and I can easily block that caller and very easy to erase calls and review them as compared to my old one. The calls have been cut back nicely!

I love it! Perfect house phone. Just got a new phone number so of course I’m getting random calls. I LOVE the block feature, no more random callers! People complained that the handset doesn’t show a new message, but the base clearly does. And honestly, it’s a very beautiful phone. The call quality is perfect. And I love that it tells me the number while it’s ringing. It says “call from mom” if the number is programmed, which you do yourself very easily. If not programmed it says “call from 555-5555”. I honestly don’t remember if it includes the area code...I think so. I’ve had different brands in the past, and you can’t go wrong with Panasonic! I’ve always felt they give you the most bang for your buck. For instance, the many different ring tones you can chose from for each handset. As well as set the volume of the ring on each handset individually. So you can customize it to where it will be in the house. Very happy!
