     I was researching for a good quality Train set for my 3 years old son. Looking at different products and their reviews, I was convinced this train set would be the best option within my budget. I was quite right; the product is really well-made and perfect size for my son. The track is wide enough to hold the train bodies not to derail them. The remote works perfectly good, no glitch, connect right way. The train goes forward as well as backward with different speed which is controlled by the remote. The material and build quality is very good, worth of price. It requires adult's help to put together the track and sometimes to put the train body on the track. And it requires 6 C-batteries and 3 AAA batteries which don't come with. My son is really happy playing this new toy. This is absolutely a great purchase!

    I was pleasantly pleased to find out that the track and train are very durable. The track snaps together firmly but is generally flexible enough not to be brittle so it hasn’t broken despite the rough play by a 3 year old. The train cars can be easily loaded up with small blocks or toys and not affect the train’s pulling. A parent will need to help get the train back on track for younger kids. The roofs of the train cars come off and on with ease. The quality is outstanding. Two things would make it perfect. One, as many have complained the volume of the speaker which is in the engine is not adjustable. Two, it would be better to have a small stop or click when the dial is at the stop position. Our grandson has trouble getting the train to stop because he turns the dial beyond the stop position and since there is a pause at that point he thinks it is stopped when it isn’t.

    We purchased this for our young grandson for Christmas and, in the two months since, he's come to love it. When he arrives at our house, his first demand is to see Thomas. He's not always gentle in handling the units but they have proven to be sturdy and durable. The track pieces fit together and stay together well and stand up to being walked on by small feet. I even bought extra track to extend the layout. My only concern is that there are a couple of small parts that are easy to remove and could be a choking hazard, fixed with a dab of adhesive. Overall, I've been greatly impressed by the design and quality of this "Ready to Play" product and feel its worthy of the historic Lionel brand.

The train itself is pretty heavy once you get the batteries in it.... wish the wheels moved when it wasn't on... needs batteries to move the wheels. Noises are fun for awhile, but can get annoying.
