    Great Radio for the Price
    Picked up a mint condition 2005 Lexus ES330 (46K miles) and decided to replace the factory radio. Using the Metra 99-8158G and the Metra TYTO-01 JBL amp harness I was able to install the Blaupunkt Toronto. The Metra opening was not wide enough to slide in the radio. I released the radio from the chassis and pushed it in from behind the Metra. The Blaupunkt Toronto is so light weight that I used a couple of pieces of heavy duty 3M double back tape to secure it to the Metra mount.Wired it up using the Metra TYTO-01 JBL amp harness and tried all features of the radio. Everything worked correctly. I was surprised how great it sounded with the factory Lexus speakers and amp. I wanted a quick easy solution to bring the 2005 Lexus into 2019 with Bluetooth - USB etc. Worked great with my Galaxy Note 8.Not sure why there are so many reviews of issues with this radio. I only tried it out for about 10-15 minutes with zero issues. Maybe I will have better lasting luck.

    I got a used beater car and it had no radio. This was a perfect cheap solution to stream podcasts and music off spotify. For the price of a fast food meal I got music in my ride. Bluetooth works good, no issues hooking up or pairing. Phone calls are clear but person on other end say i sound muffled. Not a dealbreaker as it has no external mic (built in on face of stereo) but still wish it was clearer. It works, I just have to talk louder and turn down a/c (vent fan wind noise). Also, its pretty underpowered as I almost have to max volume it with factory isuzu rodeo speakers, but there are 1 set of rca jacks for a small 2ch amp I may end up installing with a cheapo amplifier to make it louder. All in all, where else can you get a name brand BT car stereo for under 15bux?!

    I was amazed by the size of this unit but do not let its size deter you. Nowadays you do not need much to take our music around, it is either in digital carrier such as a USB stick or inside your phone. ll play them al not only that it also came with BT service allowing it to sync to your cell phone for hands free usage, how cool is that!.
    The installation was pretty simple for a DIY person like myself.
    The only down point is the harenses wires could be a bit more generous (lengthwise),aside of that little note a great small unit packed with all the features you will need at a fantastic price.

    The features and specs fo this unit are quite good and if all went well there would be no complaints however, a week after installing this unit I noticed the display getting dimmer to the point of completely going out. I kept an eye no it and seem temperature had to do a lot with it. When 1st turned on it would be fine but 26 mins later the display would have gone away. I contacted the manufacturer whom instead of arranging for a replacement wanted me to ship the unit back to him for evaluation & repair. Turned around , contacted Amazon and they arranged for a new unit. Git the new unit and worked fine fro 2 weeks and then I was back to square one, the display will be gone on this new unit as well. If you do not mind not having a disappearing display this unit will perfom well just do not count on been able to get any feedback in the form of real time screen display.

    I have multiple cars with better stereos, but I bought this for my Miata based primarily on two factors: it looks like a stock unit, and it's cheap enough to not really care about.

    The combination of these resulting in (a) the low likelihood of it attracting any attention from thieves and (b) even if it does get stolen, I'm out about $12. And who would want it anyways? I leave my car parked in front of my house with the top down most nights, and I hardly ever put up my windows or latch the top when I park it in public and it hasn't attracted any attention (if someone wants something from the car, I'd rather they just take it than slash my vinyl top). For me, those two pros outweigh all of the cons (which are honestly most other aspects of the head unit).

    Sound quality: I wouldn't say it's bad. It's totally fine for what it is and it gets the job done. But in any non convertible car I'd probably be dissatisfied with it. In my case, as long as it isn't snowing or raining, I have the top down so I know I can't expect much here. Still, it doesn't get incredibly loud (I can barely hear it if I drive on the highway - which is rare so not really a big deal for me) and the last few clicks of the volume knob are nearly useless due to distortion. Around town though, it gets the job done just fine. I'm sure even a cheap amp would totally fix this.

    Now for the main issue I've had with it: on the second drive after I installed it, the screen stopped working so I can't see any settings at all. I cant see what volume I'm at. I cant see what input I'm on. Nothing. For most, I'm sure that would be cause to return it. But for me, I basically only wanted bluetooth and a volume knob, so it doesn't really bug me. It's not like it was a good display anyways - it didnt say track/artist names or anything like that, at least not from what I remember. I got to use it with the screen working for all of ten minutes.

    That said, otherwise it works great. It connects to my phone via bluetooth quickly. The range on the bluetooth isn't great, but no issues with that while inside the car.

    Overall, I give it 3 stars just based purely on the price and that it meets my needs just fine. But just know it's not a quality unit. If you're like me and all you want is a cheap unit with bluetooth and a volume knob and don't care about anything else then this might work for you.

    I bought this radio 3 years ago. At the time it was $9.99. I didnt expect much from it but needed a cheap radio for a bass truck i was building. After i installed it about a month after i bought it the screen burnt out. But radio still worked as i knew how many clicks to get to bt. I flipped the truck with the radio in it a few weeks later. Ripped the radio out, tossed it in a box for a month. Then in stalled it in a different vehicle, still worked like a champ. Then took it out as i got rid of said vehicle. Let it sit for 2 years after that collecting dust. Got curious as to know if it still worked. And it did. This silly radio has taken more abuse then ay other radio ive ever seen. Sound wuality is good but can be a little quite, nothing a inline to rca connector and a low power high oass amp cant fix. But still a great little radio. 10/10 am gonna keep it around for another few years of abuse to see if it still works.
