Disassemble Tips: Place the screwdriver and equipment at 90-degree angle, press down with appropriate force after alignment, and then rotate slowly counterclockwise. It shouldn't be too fast or too hard. Otherwise, the screw can easily be scrapped.

I bought this product to replace a drifting joystick on my switch that I could not get replaced do to my own customization of the controller. Multiple websites rated this highly so I decided to go with it. Personally I would have preferred a kit that did not include all of the drivers at a cheaper price since I already own a electronics repair kit that has what I need. I did like the addition of the joystick covers.The joystick itself is not a perfect copy of Nintendo's joystick. Although it could be factored as wear, ginkano's joystick feels a lot more stiff versus Nintendo's joystick as it moves a lot more freely in all directions. I have compared it to every joy-con I own (all of them have many hours of use). The joystick feel it self is noticeably different then Nintendo's joystick with could probably be attributed to the use of different plastics/rubber. Although ginkano's joystick has a different feel it isn't a negative; however replacing just one joystick made playing games a little bothersome for me. I opted to cover both joysticks with the provided joystick covers to give them the same feel.Overall, I think this product is a great replacement for a troublesome joystick. I would recommend swapping either both joysticks out or using the provided joystick covers if you are OCD like me in how the joysticks feel.UPDATE: I replaced one Joy-con's joystick with this product. 9 Months later I got some severe drift in the replaced Joystick. My OEM Joystick lasted a little over 3 years. All my other controllers still have their OEM joysticks. I replaced the drifting replacement with the spare that I had from the pack. I understand that aftermarket replacements are not the same quality as OEM; however, I would have expected the joystick to last a lot longer then it had. I docked on star due to the lack of longevity of the joysticks I received.

I needed to replace both joycon joysticks and this fit the bill. It's pretty much a drop in replacement, no need to modify anything. I did break the little plastic arm that bends into to hold the connection in place on the left joycon, which I easily fixed by cutting a small piece of thin plastic card the size of the connector and fitting it in between the top part of the joycon connector to the joystick connection, sort of like a wedge. That fixed that issue (be very careful when you disconnect these they are fragile. Tools are good. They are solid, especially the tweezers they are great, just be careful they are sharp. The screw drivers are magnetized? So taking screws out are no problem. I've received tools in other replacement kits and they've been garbage, these are very decent. Overall I give it a solid 4.5 out of 5. Wish the box was just slight a bit bigger to fit everything in it..but big deal!

Dropped my switch and the joycon joystick broke. Ordered this kit, watched a YouTube video just to know what to expect and replaced the stick. The stick in this kit is definitely not OEM, the ribbon cable, component base, and even the nub itself are visibly different (nub is smaller by maybe a millimeter or two diameter wise). But hey it still fit perfectly and is working fine, so no complaints. Will update if anything changes.

As for the rest of the kit, was pleased to find that the drivers had some magnetization that held onto the small Phillips screws inside the case (exterior Y screws did not stick). The small curved forceps worked well and were sturdy enough, no reason why you should be putting enough pressure to damage them. Kit also had plastic spreading tools which came in handy for opening the case, getting battery out and pressing antenna cable back into its notch. Also had a brush and a suction cup which I did not use. I really only used one Y driver and one Phillips so about 50% of the kit was not used, but having too much is better than not enough I guess.

Worked great! I have done this before with a different seller and their product did not work. This one was perfect!!! The kit includes some extra items that will help you such as extra screws (which really saved my job) and extra drivers. As a unintended bonus, the kit case can be used as a tray to help keep your tiny parts organized. I highly recommend this. The seller also included their personal email to resolve issues. This was a nice touch just in case an issue should arise.

The only flaw is that the screwdrivers were bent slightly. This honestly has no negative impact on the install. It just threw me off for a minute.

The install is challenging and timely the first time you install it. It is a good challenge for people that like to take things apart and repair them. I wish you all good luck!

Edit: leaving the original review for transparency. Updating the score because the seller got back to me the next day and shipped out a new kit for me. Was just waiting for it to arrive to update. The new kit resolves my problems so only 1 star docked since I had to wait for a new kit.

I bought these about a week ago.

I installed and calibrated them. The left stick appeared to work great, however the stick I installed in the right joycon was drifting out-of-the-box, even after calibration. I contacted the seller and received an automated message asking for my address. I responded and never heard back.

I've been using them to play AC. Last night I noticed "running" was intermittent. Earlier tonight I opened up the calibration again, and its reporting that the left stick is only moving about 80% of the range it was calibrated at when I installed it. I re-calibrated it, and it worked great for about another 15 minutes. I opened up the calibration again, and it was once again only registering about 80% of the second range it was calibrated to. I re-calibrated it again, and it worked for about another 10 minutes. Its once again registering about 80%. (80% probably being about where run stops working in Animal Crossing, and why that's where I notice it).

So within a week of buying the sticks, they've lost > 50% of their original range. For the cost, I'm not even sure if its worth going out to ship them back. Its enough to be irritating but not enough to be worth driving out somewhere to return them. I'm just going to end up eating the cost and probably buy a whole new set of joycons to avoid this issue again.

The only actual pro to the sticks is that (at least initially) they feel tight and high quality. That doesn't really mean much if they only last a week before completely giving out.

The new sticks work great and look just like the old ones. The kit comes with more than you need and a handful of replacement screws which I found handy since I had stripped a couple out on the last repair I did.

My only complaint would be the included instructions. The pictures are small and the instructions aren't detailed. Definitely look up a video or some better instructions as the ribbon cables have little clamps that hold them in place and they are delicate.
