Overall good printer. Super easy to set up, all computers In the house printing with the wireless functionality. Vary similar to the old pixma that lasted 10 years. The only thing I really dislike is the very loud noise it makes when is getting ready to print and turn off. The noise is not during the printing process, is just the set up. Previous pixma we had would do the same but the noise was barely noticeable. This one is so loud I can hear it from other rooms in the house. It gets very annoying.
I do like that the tray for printed work opens automatically if you forget to pull it out. The old one did not, so papers would en on the floor... Before powering off, it asks you to confirm if you want to close the tray and reminds you to remove your work. If you hit no, then it stays open so your work doesn’t get damaged. It weights a lot less and takes on a lot less space than the older pixma version we had. I was very happy about that. Printing quality is very good, just like the old one. Ink price is reasonable (other brands were ridiculously expensive).
Do note we use it for printing school work as needed and family pictures (we bought photo paper) because I love sending pics to family and friends that live in other countries. I don’t see this as a printer for high volume printing. It is great for what we need. But if you have a need for high volume output with long lasting ink (lower cost per page), then I would not recommend. If you needed for low volume good quality, the I would definitely recommend.

Will not accept back tray; Print quality so-so
All the recommended printers for artists were unavailable, so I decided to give this one a try based on reviews that indicated it was good for making cards. Turns out the print quality is only standard. I shouldn’t be surprised at the price point. The colors are not rich and some of the darker colors have red lines streaking through them (image shows arrows pointing to red lines). Disappointing... should have saved the packaging to return it. This may be good for a student but I would not recommend it for photos or art prints.———UPDATE: I figured out how to change the paper type to reduce the lines in the ink BUT now I am fighting to get the printer to use the back tray. Ever since changing the paper type, it only wants to use the front tray but you can’t use anything but regular printer paper in that tray. This printer is more trouble than it is worth!
