This is my fourth Tayogo Waterproof MP3 Player of this type, and I am quite satisfied. I first bought one around 2016 or so, and have bought three more since then. Since that first purchase, Tayogo has incrementally improved the product each time, in response to customer feedback. For example, the black and carefully shaped rubber earplug attachments today are far better than the simple clear ones they used the first time. The instruction manual offers far better guidance than the first instruction manual did. The sound quality is also better than in the original. There is still an issue with the connectivity between the USB center and the headphones, but that can be nursed if the customer is careful. I think they've fixed an issue that I had with my first Tayogo, but I cannot be certain until I use it more -- on the old one, when I chose the "shuffle" feature and the charge died, after I recharged it, the shuffle feature would only play the same 25 songs or so, which was getting really annoying until I realized that the better way was to just switch to "order play" instead of shuffle, and then it was fine. On this new one, I've had it on shuffle, I've recharged it twice, and it's not limiting me to the same 25 songs, so I'm happy.
Some tips for usage:
- The device does work for about 8 hours. I usually swim 3-4 times a week, 60-90 minutes each time. I've found that if I recharge it every second week, it usually lasts that long, which is roughly 8 hours. Tayogo says to recharge your device at least once every 2-3 months, and they're probably right about that, but I haven't tried leaving a device lay for that long.
- When transferring music to your device, put all the songs in the same folder, if you want the shuffle feature to reach all your music. Otherwise, it may shuffle just within the folder you start in.
- I have no idea how to transfer music from a streaming service. I'm old enough to have loads of music on my computer from CDs, from back in the day. If you're streaming, that might be an issue, or perhaps you'll have to tell me what to do.
- I separate the USB from the headphones after every swim, very carefully, and let them all dry between uses. I think that preserves the connectivity longer, but I may be wrong on that count. What I am sure of is that you've got to treat the USB device very gingerly whenever either hooking it up to the headphones, or recharging it.
- If your sound isn't good, first play around a little with the headphone portion, then the connection. It usually gets better, but be very careful when doing this, as you might break something. If there was one thing I'd wish Tayogo could improve, it'd be the reliability of this connection, so that the sound quality would remain strong forever.
- I like that they're selling the parts separately now -- that's a good thing, in case one part doesn't work as well.
There's plenty more I guess I can say about this device, but after four devices, I can say that I am a satisfied customer, and that with care, these are really good devices for swimming.

See update, product broke in 3 months; Great benefit-cost ratio (got mine for $35, totally worth it)
Update 1/2/21: the plastic USB insert broke off, rendering the product useless. Too bad because otherwise it was really great. Lasted a few months.Previous:Great benefit-cost ratio (got mine for $35, totally worth it). I bought this AFTER I tried an expensive $130 Sony version that was not comfortable and totally not worth the price. The Tayogo is designed well with the bulk of it behind your head so that there is not much drag/resistance when you swim. And the ear buds have some extra rubber that helps seal the buds well to your ear holes. My only regret is not buying this one first, because now I have the expensive Sony unit that sits unused. The issue with the Sony (NW-WS623/625) is that there is too much bulk sitting right outside your ear holes that creates drag when you swim and then yanks on you, uncomfortably. The Sony unit is probably vastly superior for regular land use, for jogging or something. But for swimming laps in a pool, the Tayogo totally works better and at a much cheaper price. I swim laps with it regularly.
