You can Remove the Detachable antenna amplifier if your house is within 20-30 miles range from the tower. We do NOT Recommend to use this amplifier or booster if your house is very close to the broadcast tower and the signal is already very strong.

One of my friends suggested that I buy an antenna, which will play some local channels for free. I don't quite believe it. When I first installed the antenna, I plugged the USB power cord into my spare charger and then plugged it into a wall outlet. I need it all to be supplied: coaxial cable, amplifier, power adapter, adhesive to make sure it's on the wall. It's so easy to install. I ran the automatic channel finder and our new HD Channel appeared. I'm on a hill in the country, so we only receive 20 channels, that's what I deserve. Our channel is so clear, the signal is very good. I usually don't watch much TV, but there are several other digital channels on the antenna, which are enough to provide a variety of entertainment and meet my daily needs. It's only tens of dollars. It's a great deal. So you don't have to pay for cable.

Better than anything else I've tried

Just installed about half an hour ago, so this review is a bit premature, but I wanted to give a first gut reaction.

As a prelude, I have been having trouble getting a good signal in my home for years. Tried multiple different options, including a roof mounted antenna before settling for an indoor solution that worked intermittently. The weirdest things interfered with the signal, such as my dog roaming the back yard or plugging in my cell phone to charge. I often had to move the antenna to different places throughout an evening in order to continue to receive a good signal from the same channel.
Some times I was able to get just good enough a signal to watch a live NFL game if I stood in just the right spot in the room and didn't breathe too often.

I'm sure you can guess my skepticism about this product. I pulled it out of the box and it appears to have come with enough materials to install wherever you need it, whether that's inside, outside on the side of the house or the roof, with plenty of cord length to get it where it needs to be.

I probably want to install it on the exterior of my house eventually, but so far have only tried it inside. Intially swapping out the previous antenna, it seemed to get a similar signal, but this was just as I was getting things connected in the middle of the room. I moved it around to different areas and noticed the signal getting better pretty easily, then I settled for a crawl space in the basement far away from the rest of my electronics. I came out and noticed the signal still was flaky, but I wasn't finished yet.

I realized they had included a power connection with it that I hadn't hooked up yet. I was a little disappointed to see that it was a USB plug without a wall adapter, but luckily I have a lot of spares lying around and was able to use one of those.

Hooked it all up and sat down and am very pleased so far. Crystal clear signal on channels that have historically been a large battle for me. And, after a new channel scan, I was able to get a perfect signal from a channel that I previously only ever was able to watch on odd days of even numbered months while the moon was in retrograde.

This is just the initial results, and I will try to post an update if my impression changes, but so far I am very happy.

UPDATE: After a couple months, things have settled and I've returned to having trouble from time to time with a couple of channels, especially if the upstairs roommate is doing too many things with his iPhone and TV and tablet and laptop all at the same time. For the most part, it is still much better than my previous antenna, but not as good as I had hoped.

Tired of rising cable bills, we're tired of missing football games, so we want to try and buy an antenna. It comes with an amplifier in case you live in a rural area. This product has been installed and tested in two locations. One of them is on the first floor of our living room, but not next to the window. It only finds 3 random old channels and the resolution is not the best. The second time I moved the antenna to the master bedroom TV by the window, it immediately received 47 channels. Some of them are repetitive, so I can accurately say that there are about 38 in total. All the local news channels and football matches are very clear, only some random old channels are a bit grainy! It's amazing how well it works. I'm going to buy another TV set for the other rooms. It has good quality and beautiful design. This is one of the best products I bought. I sincerely recommend it to you.

I decided not to rent a "box" from my cable provider for the TV in my guest room, since it is rarely used. To get the cable channels I needed an antenna. This one works great. It is adjustable, directional, amplified, and easy to install. I now get all or nearly all of the HD channels that come over the airwaves with no continuing charge from Cable Provider. I mounted it on a wood block just for added stability and it sits on the caddie in back of the TV. There are a lot of mounting options including outdoors if you want that. For what I wanted, it just stands indoors. It fit the bill.

Works well. Be careful of the connector from the antenna. It appears I damaged it during assembly. To my pleasant surprise Amazon allowed me to return the damaged one with a refund (I had already purchased a second antennae as it worked we’ll dispite the damage).

Update. After I received the new antenna it appears that I didn’t damage the connector but rather it came without the coupler that the replacement antenna had.

Also, I was slow to learn that The amplifier was actually causing signals to be distorted. I removed it and then had lots of clear channels.
