About TenBest
TenBest publishes ten-point guides to buying well: how to tell a real discount from a fake one, what to check before buying used or refurbished, which specs to ignore and how to shop safely online.
Why ten points
Most buying decisions come down to a handful of checks. Ten is enough to cover what matters, and few enough to use on a phone in a store aisle. Every guide ends with a checklist you can screenshot or print.
How we work
- No sponsored content and no paid placements. Nobody can pay to be mentioned, recommended or left out.
- No affiliate links. We don’t earn a commission when you buy something.
- No made-up rankings. We don’t score or rank products we haven’t tested.
- Sources you can check. Guides link to laws, regulators and official documentation, so you can verify what we say.
- Clear limits. When the answer depends on the store, the country or the product, we say so instead of pretending there’s one rule.
Our guides are written for shoppers in the United States, so laws and examples are mostly American. Where a rule from elsewhere is useful, such as the European Union’s 30-day lowest-price rule for discounts, we mention it.
Ads
TenBest is free to read and is supported by ads served by Google, which appear on our guide pages. Advertisers have no say in what we write, and ads are kept visibly separate from the guides. Our privacy policy explains how ad cookies work and how to control them.
